Night Swirls pendant by GeshaR Night Swirls pendant by GeshaR
Silver filigree pendant with blue goldstone.
Model handmade by me then cast to replicate (same goes for the loop).
This pendant is 3 cm (1.2 inches) in diameter.
This item has been sold, but there are more works like this one in my Etsy shop: [link]
If you're interested in exactly the same item (or same model with different stone), feel free to note me!

May i ask; what you're using to cut the silver so fine??

Actually this piece is not sawn, it's a filigree (plates folded into spirals and tubes then soldered at joint points in a frame).
Sawn pieces (like this geshar.deviantart.com/art/Flow… and this geshar.deviantart.com/art/Drag… look differently. If you're looking to cut metal, use jeweller's saw size 0/2, for finer pieces with a lot of precision - 0/5 (it's very thin). I used it here: geshar.deviantart.com/art/Wedd… - the knots were sawn out then soldered to the base.

I like how you made the stone look suspended within the frame, the 'moon' in the piece looks imprinted with the starry night sky:)
I love blue goldstones, they look like they have little stars in them.

This is gorgeous!
I love the simple design of the swirls and yet the complexity of the whole piece.
Your lines are clean cut and smooth, and the overall piece was done amazingly well.
Nice job and once again, great pendant!
Tootles!

Thank you :-)
This particular piece was not made out of wax, it's silver filigree - soldered plates and wire. I tried making one like this in wax, but the result was somewhat crude.
But wax in general is fun, particularly for sculpted projects.

I really like you work! They are all delicate and beautiful. Filigree is just beautiful technique and you make it really, really well :). Keep up the good work!

This is gorgeous.
I love when the loop is more than just a loop and something is going on with it.
As an abstract piece, this is stunning!
I only done a very crude variety of wax casting and would love to try it some more. Do you have your own casting equipment? I have to send all my orders off, sadly. I want an injector and a sling!

Thank you :-) I also like findings that are artsy (in this case it's a flat filigree model cast and then folded)
I send my wax pieces to a shop for casting, as my studio at home is merely a corner in my bedroom - no place for heavy machinery. The studio where I learn sent us on a "field trip" to see the process. Seemed like a lot of hard work to me... But an injector is a good thing to have, sometime in the future...

Like this one: [link]
A simple folded bail but with an ickle gold butterfly on it. Without it the whole appearance would be plain and rather common, but with that little detail becomes a whole different story.

Mmmm.. bigger workshop.. yes please.
I'm in a proffessional workshop, a very old one. Sadly it's been only doing fine jewelry over the century and when I come with my somewhat larger ideas like goggles and silver collars, the power of the tools isn't enough. Everything is too petite and i would need to make huge investments in tools just to try getting my prototypes done.

I need a bigger torch, someplace to forge and shape larger metal sheets (larger as in bigger than an inch or so), and various tools, hammers and whatnots.
Oh well.

Sometime in the future...

This butterfly is so sweet! Indeed, it changes the whole look, making it unique.

Yes, space can be a problem sometimes. That's part of the reason why I don't even attempt lagrer pieces at home. Luckily, I can do some work in the studio where I learn...

So let's wish each other luck and better equipment ;-)

*reads again* No, wait.. the model wasn't made in wax. Oh!

Did you do a filigree job and then sanding it down a bit for the smooth look?
Did you cast the bezel in too, or did you add it later on?

very, very pretty no matter how it was done!

Здорово! Узор вырезался из пластины? Или так шикарно спаян? *___*

Спасибо! Это филигрань (ну или почти) - узор спаян из пластин, потом обработан надфилем и наждачкой, чтобы создать ровную поверхность, и отполирован.
